It really sucks because I could live with it (being a techy guy) for the time being, but my wife is pretty frustrated about it (and frustrated at me for "breaking" her phone). It looks like I will be restoring her phone from sbf tonight. :-( Motorola DROID · BB v0.4 - Froyo FRF84B · Stock Theme Pete's 800Mhz Kernel · ClockworkMod Recovery Follow me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/MrBlippy Check out the Bugless Beast FAQ: http://alldroid.org/tabi...9/FAQ-Bugless-Beast.aspx Bugless Beast Toolkit Info: http://alldroid.org/tabi...Toolkit-by-MrBlippy.aspx Gloatware: http://www.speedtest.net/rank/1191826797.png

Moving the app back to the phone (from the SD card) is just an extra step for those of us who have plenty of space on our phone's memory. You can easily fix this by going into /system/etc/install-recovery.sh in Root Explorer (long-press on the file and use Open in Text Editor). Find the line that says "pm setInstallLocation 2" and change it to " pm setInstallLocation 1" then hit the back key and it will ask if you want to save, and will save the original file with a .bak extension. You should also edit that same file so the scaling_min_frequency is 250000 rather than 125000. LiQuID FroZeN YoGurT v1.3 ChevyNo1 1.1Ghz LV Kernel ClockworkMod Recovery Sweeter Home 2

I think the annoying thing is the change in what has always been default behavior. I personally don't install that many Market apps, but when I do, I will have to now go check to see where a new app installed to. I know...I know...boo hoo. Maybe I'm just old fashioned. I have nothing against adding options for people who want them. But, changing base behavior is something I have a hard time appreciating. It feels a little too "forced" in this case. I looked in that folder and no such line exists to change the default location of app on install. Many CPU lines and busybox killall commands. Any suggestions? Just curious if there is a check box or Pete script I am blindly and dumbly missing. That, I am not sure about. But, if you do find a way to turn it off, would you kindly pass it on to me also? the way to "disable" Apps2SD is in the FAQ.
granted, it's kind of hidden a bit, but you use a terminal emulator and enter:
su
pm setInstallLocation 1
1 = internal
2 = sd
0 = auto

I set it to install to phone by default by going into terminal emulator and typing su <enter> pm setInstallLocation 1 <enter> and everything seems to have worked. As of this post I've only had one reboot when trying to put my screen to sleep, but so far not a big problem. I do hope a fix comes out soon for that. Every time I turn my phone on and slide to unlock I'm prompted to select which launcher I want to use, even though I select "Set as default" every time.

MrBlippy wrote:getsome831 wrote:Anybody else having trouble with market sync/restore? Tried to wipe coming from v0.1 and not getting the market sync this time. Went back to restored v0.1 and tried again...same result. I'll probably just go back to my v0.1 restore and lay v0.2 over it instead of wiping for now. Did you try clearing your Market cache? Hmm, "Manage applications" screen now just spins its wheels trying to load/compute but never does. I tried to open the Market up anyway and its just reads "Computing..." under each calculated field. Tried clicking on clear cache anyway but there's no response. Gave this "cache clear" a shot under v0.1 3x wipe/restore and 3x wipe/install of v0.2...same result, "Manage applications" never seems to fully load. Going to try a battery pull and wipe/restore of v0.1 again...start again from there...sigh. Motorola DROID LiQuID FroZeN YoGurT v1.6 Stock Kernel ClockworkMod Recovery (latest)

Just to clarify, an install-recovery.sh file edited per GirLuvsDroid's suggestions should look like this:
#!/system/bin/sh
echo "2048,3072,6144,10240,12800,15360" > /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree
sysctl -p
sleep 42s
busybox killall -q com.noshufou.android.su
busybox killall -q com.google.android.apps.uploader
busybox killall -q com.google.android.deskclock
sleep 5s
busybox killall -q com.amazon.mp3
busybox killall -q com.motorola.calendar
sleep 5s
busybox killall -q com.google.android.gallery3d
sleep 5s
busybox killall -q com.qo.android.moto
echo "800000" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq
echo "250000" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_min_freq
echo "ondemand" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor
echo "50" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ondemand/up_threshold
echo "32000" > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ondemand/sampling_rate
sleep 15s
pm setInstallLocation 1
-or replace 800000 with the max clock setting you want to use. I just did this using 600000 and rebooted and after everything has time to settle down, then "cpuinfo" displays the correct settings.

Is bumping up the minimum frequency to 250 ghz making a difference in the random rebooting for anyone? I'm still at 125 ghz and haven't had any reboots using the stock kernel. Just seems to me like there are still some kernels issues with Froyo.

I wasn't getting any reboots with a min of 125 MHz but I was noticing that background processes sometimes weren't doing what they were supposed to (GMail unread count not posting new messages, etc.) with the phone on standby. Also for a second or two after waking up things were hanging. Setting it to 250 MHz APPEARS to have fixed this but it's too early to tell for sure.

Wiped 3x Factory Reset.
Cleared market cache 2x
Force stop launcher app
Connected to Wifi - in case 3g was a problem
Rebooted 3x
It is now showing my purchased apps which is a plus.
But it still wont auto download any apps from the market.
