It is not possible to activate the receiver on the Milestone at this time because it requires a custom kernel, which cannot be installed on the Milestone. 2.2 has not been confirmed to have any FM radio capability, however even if Google adds that in, Motorola can remove it if they want to.

I was the person working on the FM Radio for the Droid, and I still have plans to do so, but I am very short on spare time at the moment, so it is on hold for right now.

If you share the work you have done or ideas, we could continue the work in the forum.

Is it possible?

Hi,

I had tried Speedymon stuff from previous forum and same no sounds.

And today I have download and extract XT702 SBF (the chinese Milestone) just try to had/replace a few lib (the same has the fmradiostuff).

Except the framework.jar (at it odexed in the XT702 and not the Milestone)

For 1,

When I had replace with Speedy from his "old" tricks the libaudio.so did not allow me to pass the M Logo Screen (the 1st Logo, not the bootanimation).

Here with the libaudio.so, libaudiopolicy.so, media.so ... everythings seems fine (I have sounds and everythings play ok, the mic in call works ...)

BUT STILL NO SOUND (and no station found but that is maybe my poor reception), but everythings work seems to work Great (had the fmradioserver start also at boot (modify my mod_boot))

Jay

PS: @Speedymon how is it going ?? Recovering OK ?? Hope everythings better ;)

[EDIT]PPS: so I guess I must be missing from the framework.jar (I could not replace because odex), if someone would have a tip on how to do somethings deodex or any (the limits of my actual knowledge/possibility).

Regarding the scanning for radio station and the lack of results, you use the wired headset as an antenna and bluetooth chipset is on, right?

Do you know how is configured the scanning offset (50 kHz/ 100 kHz / 200 kHz step)? And the de-emphasis (50 µs in Europe, 75 µs in the US I think, don't know in China)?

This could influence the results...:)

ps: I don't know also if you can lower the RSSI threshold easily... It could help getting more stations (or just noise)...

Motorola XT 720 will have FM radio! perhaps from this ROM you can retrieve the kernel and drivers.

Hi

me and nothize tried to get libs and FMRadio.apk from xt701 ( which also has fmradio working ) but scaning for any stations always find 0 stations.

If someone want to help with it contact me via GTalk ( zewelor@gmail.com ) here is page with some basic info:

http://and-developers.co...torola_milestone:fmradio

@noway:

with sample app called fmapp ( its to dl under url posted and and-developers ) You can change all of that parameters but it also wont let u to find any radio stations.

We tested both approaches on Milestone and on Droid
