I even tried resetting the phone to factory before updating, and it
still doesn't work. (Most of the apps i deleted are still missing...
Swype, Skype and some others.)
Help anyone?
What you should do is hit the search button as it's trying to update so you can actually see what it's failing on. When the little android with a triangle shows up during the install, just hit up and read through the stuff.

I copied the application to my sd card but cannot (or don't know how) transfer it into my system/app location via rootexplorer. I also attempted to push the app using adb push cityid.apk /system/app/cityid.apk but get a permission denied message. I ensured via rootexplorer. r/w was initiated. Any help is appreciated.
In the main menu of root explorer, go to sdcard, copy the file, then navigate to the /system/app folder, mount r/w, and paste the file.
