I reverted my Droid to stock from SS 4.8 by flashing a 2.1 sbf file in RSDlite. It went well. I'm back to stock 2.1 and it works. However when I try to update to 2.2, it won't automatically update and it doesn't accept the update.zip for a manual update. I'm not sure where I went wrong, so this is why I am posting here. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

After you reflashed to 2.1 did you go back and wiped Cashe and data?
This might be it

I did. I wiped everything clean 3 or 4 times. When I try and manually update it says it cannot verify the package and it doesn't even recognize an ota update.

If you had Bootstrapper installed (Koush recovery), you have to remove it.
