I've searched high and low, but I can't find a documented way to connect a PS3 controller to a Droid X via Bluetooth, and I would LOVE it if someone could figure out a way to connect them. I know there is an app that connects a Wii controller via Bluetooth, but I'm looking for something that could be used to play games on any emulator, including the PS1 emulator, so I need something with more buttons than a Wii. Yes, I am aware of other controllers that would work via the Wii system, but none that I know with the capabilities of the PS3 controller.
From what I have found online, it seems that the Bluetooth profile used by the PS3 controller is the HID profile. On Motorola's website, it lists the Droid X as being compatible with that profile, so perhaps the only obstacle is having the software for the Droid X to be controlled by the PS3 controller.
If anyone knows more about this, I would greatly appreciate the information. If anyone has the know-how to create a piece of software like this, I would gladly donate to them. Maybe the Wii app could be appropriated to fit the PS3 controller? I'm not nearly developer-savvy enough to accomplish this, so I would love some help! Thanks.

I'm very interested in this as well. However, I think this topic should be moved to a general board. This would be useful on more than just the X. Rom: SS 4.7

Maybe I'll get my app out for it before someone else does?

I read somewhere, probably XDA, that the guy that made the Wiimote app is working on one for PS3 remotes.
Also, keep in mind that syncing a PS3 controller is going to be a lot more difficult since it uses USB for pairing. You'll have to trick it somehow.

It requires you connect the controller to a PC and then pass the info off to the phone, not an easy task and much more complicated than just downloading an app off the market. Hopefully someone posts a solution soon, I wanted to like the Wiimote with Classic Controller Pro but its just too clunky and annoying to carry around. A simple PS3 controller would be much more efficient for gaming.

http://tomasz.sterna.tv/...-ps3-sixaxis-controller/Whilst this is the Maemo5 OS (albeit an alternative Linux phone distro), pairing is capable using the sixpair utility. http://www.pabr.org/sixlinux/sixlinux.en.htmlThere is some more information on a native Linux guide for this as well. Being that you can performing the pairing with sixpair, I'll do some digging into the Froyo kernel source to see what missing peices are there. At the least, sixpair can be used to force pairing for the DroidX to the controller. Droid X

I think you can connect Droid X with PS3 via DLNA. You can use Droid X as a controller, and transmit movies to PS3 easily. However, PS3 can only play it supports videos, like MP4, AVI, WMV, TS, M2TS, MPG, so you must convert video to MP4 or other PS3 compatible formats. As a loyal user of Droid X, I usually use Foxreal Video Converter to solve this problem. This Droid X video converter can convert between various videos with excellent output quality.
You can convert videos to MP4 and transmit videos to PS3 via DLNA for enjoying.

I found a website that might make this possible, I haven't been able to try it myself yet because I work a lot. but there are videos of people using it to make a PS3 controller work on their phone. However, there is not one for the droids. CLICK HERE (Will open new window) I'd be very interested if any one can get this working as well. Thank you. -Fader
