I just flashed this last night and I have a couple of questions:

1- I am assuming since it was not in the OP that there is no throttle hack? I have one that someone posted on DX forums a few days ago. Is it alright to flash?

2-How can I find the sysctl.conf settings? I was using Marius universal zip on rooted deodexed stock GB and I was running really well. What I'm noticing is that my free memory this morning is down to 45-60 which is almost half of what I usually run. I know the numbers don't mean anything per se, but I know my phone and at those levels if I use the phone more than minimally I will start getting fc's and the screens will lag. So clearly I need tweaking. I saw in a post that drod said not to use the sysctl.conf zip so I would like a recommendation, because it is not good as is now. I did a reboot as a temporary fix but I don't want to be doing that regularly.

Thanks

Cheers!

Just to be sure I am following:

- You flash the deodexed GB
- Then you flash the blurry bread ROM

Right?

You mentioned deodexed, but did not mention actually flashing the ROM (or SBF and the original GB flash as well)...

There is really no need to tweak this any further. Drod's own tweaks and scripting skills are too good to be true. I would not sugest flashing Mariu's zip on any of Drod's ROM's, most of those tweaks are already incorporated anyways. And remember, most of those tweaks were for Froyo, we are now on Gingerbread, completely different game here.

But if you insist, the sysctl.conf file is located in /etc/

Honestly, just leave it as is.

Could be that but would it say "rubiX" in the "about phone" section?

@macpro88  honestly don't plan anything unless the phone has problems. I know that numbers may not mean that function will deteriorate in the android system, but my past experience dictates caution. Free mem less than 75 usually led to LOTS of problems. I usually use the phone heavily and I do have lots of apps so this morning when I saw numbers in the 45-55 range I was worried. Most of the day it has been in the 60's and I have now frozen the bloat and not used the phone much. I will see how it goes. I like to know where things are in case I need to get to them. And rest assured I plan to ask for help. I do not change my sysctl.conf parameters lightly!! I truly appreciate the skill it takes to make these programs efficient.

I also appreciate how different Gingerbread is. I have found it somewhat amusing that people moved onto it and simply assumed there would be no glitches with apps etc. When you're first at anything there is always problems, but usually they are ones worth putting up with because the product has much to offer. I expect issues to pop up. I just hope that smart people like Drod2169 remain interested enough in the DX to help out with it. I'm assuming that solutions for Gingerbread glitches would work on other phones as well, so hopefully so.

Thanks for the info

Does this remove the Blue colour scheme used by Motorola?  I actually rather like the blue, more than GB green.  I suppose if it is removed, someone could make a blue theme for Blurry Bread, but I assume it doesn't exist at this time.

Nothing has been themed, so the stock Blur elements are all intact. Blur Blue notification bar in all.

I'm surprised the fix for the hard key lights wasn't in this. I guess it will be coming soon...
