Wiped boot, system, data, cache x3 plus hit factory reset and clear cache to boot. GTalk shuts down, which understand is needed for Market...unable to download any of my apps as a result. Had no problem like this with today's MyDroid release of Froyo so will go back to that for the meantime.

My phone doesn't like froyo!

The mdw install choked and stalled and froze after first boot during google sign-n no matter what I tried. So I thought I'd give this one a shot and it's only marginally better. No on-screen keyboard. Its real sticky/laggy overall.

I'm at a lose to explain any of this. I've been loading roms for months now (several times a week sometimes) and I fully understand the steps. I've tried everything I know of with both the CWM and SPR release from mdw as well and this spr nandroid from boost. I've tried data wipes/factory rest after restore but before first boot and still no go. I've read dozens of post of people installing and running it w/o a hitch but I can't hardly get to the home screen after boot before it starts acting funny...slow/freezing/5 sec stutters etc. or after entering username and pw it'll just hang forever at the google sign-in screen .... followed eventually by a battery pull.  Back to BB until the next 2.2 from a dev is released. Or maybe I'll give this one another try once Jake releases a kernel for it but I've been playing with both 2.2's since about 9 a.m. and I'm no closer to a stable fast 2.2 install than I was this morning.

im busting ass to get this done asap. ftp uploading sucks ass with the droid, but i'll get it done asap, let me know if you find any other issues

I'll wait. Dominator 3.0 is frickin fast and smooth, so I don't want to give that up until this is better than D3.

Market requires factory reset, thru the menu/privacy.
Flash just needs installed. Its in system apps. If you have root explorer, just click it, click install. That's it.
I tested market fix on 3 accounts. Fixes all issues I can find

Pulled off 13.2 mflops linpack score, repeatedly.
Everything but maps seems to work thru market. I can post a 4.2 maps for everyone.

The release has 4.2. That's the reason the update is failing.
If you hit menu/more/about you'll see its 4.2.0
I will make sure there's not a newer version.

loving this one seems smoother to me with better battery life. not seeing any major improvments needed loading and setup went without issue. but would love to have jakes kernel running with this.

Unless that is a newer version, you will constantly get Force Closes on this version of Froyo.

edit:  I guess I shoulda clicked on the link.  This is v26 which does work on this.  Thanks.

For those who want the soft keyboard:

This should do it.

edit: You must adb push it to /system/app or use root explorer to copy/paste it to system/app and reboot.

Has anyone found any third party apps that do not work with 2.2? I use TouchDown, and it looks like there are issues with 2.2.

Are there major changes in the framework-res.apk? I have a heavily modded custom theme, so I'm wondering if I will lose all of that. I'm still going to load it now, just wondering.

Got it installed. Man, this thing is slow as slow gets, even with one of the kernels from P3Droid. Maybe I'll go back to D3.

Allow it to fully sync. Yeah I know its super slow but it speeds up once that's done trust me. With the 1.2 kernel its crazy fast

I had to download another kernel since I lost root when I used SPRecovery. Where did you get the 1.2 kernel? P3Droid?

Good things to come today. I'll be working on it all morning. Feel free to buzz me on gtalk, with concerns, comments, suggestions, etc.
Boostdscoob@gmail.com
All my focus is on 2.2 now, and based on linpack scores and visual judging, we have a decent base, with which we can get dominator like or better performance.
Also, not dogging anyone, but most of the issues/sloth like performance, is in the kernel.. Jake is going to bless us with his kernels, very very soon. Expect a release tonight.
