I have been running FlyX all day now and no major issues. My quadrant score was 1395.  The only problem I see is that I still have lag on the lock screen.

And blur is still there.  (Just kidding, I know getting rid of that junk comes much later :P )

It would be awesome in the future (probably after blur is removed) to implement the new All-the-time-HDMI-output method used in "Real HDMI" app.

Anyways, I I am working on a boot animation for this rom. Hold tight :)

Any requests on how this should look? I really want an animation that we will all like.

Something must of been up with my last 2.2 install i was running, because my battery life is waaay better with this rom. No bugs I can tell yet besides the search button. Thanks for your work Birdman. Can't wait to see what a vanilla rom is like without all the motorola crap.

When I choose the Flyx Rom in Rom Manger and after clicking on wipe data and backup data, when it asks to reboot into recovery nothing happens at all. I also have Droid X Bootstrapper and when I click on bootstrap recobery, it says successful but when I click on REboot recovery nothing happens. Not sure what to do. I deleted my cache in Rom Manger and that didnt help. Not sure where to go from here. Any advice would be great!

I had similar issues to you, what I finally had success with was uninstalling rommanager then installing bootstrapper and rommanager again, hit the download button again for flyx, told it to wipe etc, it turned off and went flawless from that point forward.  The key was uninstalling and reinstalling, without that I wouldn't have gotten anywhere.

Now my findings on the ROM:

1) Awesome work mrbirdman, sweet job and very impressive to see someone breakdown the gates to get a custom ROM running on the X.

2) I realize that this is as much a proof of concept ROM and is running basically FROYO with a little cleanup job, so I didn't load this expecting for the ROM of the century.

3) The issues that I have are:

a) The refresh circle is constantly on (located beside the 3G symbol)

b) I have had multiple issues with widgets disappearing and reappearing, all seem to be related to custom ones such as speed dial.

c) Smart keyboard Pro not working with the voice input, despite redownloading and installing it ( no big issue since I don't use voice much ), Swype not working but I did read a tweet that leads me to believe it needs to be renamed

d) Battery life seems to be worse, considerably worse, however it is hard to tell without having this running any longer than it has been.

I was going to flash back to 2.2, however I didn't get a backup done, despite choosing that on the rommanager, no big deal because I think I can get my hands on a backup copy from a fellow X abuser.

Keep up the awesome work.

I second this. I pulled my charger off at 0600 with 100% Charge. Only checked 2 SMS's. Sent 1 message via Google Talk. And deleted 2 emails. Display setting is at the lowest setting. At 0730 I'm at 60% charge. I've never had this problem with this phone.

Might want to see if more can confirm this. Maybe I got lucky, but I do not have this problem. I am experiencing much better battery life than my last setup, so it sounds like it is easy to get programs that are running in the background. I don't use SMS or google talk, but I do use google voice.

I would be curious if more could confirm this. Again, before this rom, I did not have this problem. I could go till 2100 and have at least 30% battery left. That's with normal use.

http://www.droidforums.n...constant-sync-issue.html

I think this is the issue. Possibly Titanium Backup causing a restore setting that is making sync stay on. I turned it off with the battery widget thing.... but the icon stays. My assumption is that it is still running. I thought maybe it was a FlyX ROM problem causing the icon to stay. I'm guessing it's possible that the restore did it. Anybody else?
